Bellingham Elks Club, Samish Way

Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM by President Carpenter

Board members present: Carpenter, Wynn, Vodopich, Conoboy, Abell, Roehl, Gilbertson

Board members absent: Pacheco

Total Neighborhood Association members present: 66 out of 107 paid memberships

Additional attendees: George Huston, Bill Geyer, Michael Lilliquist (Ward 6 City Councilman)

Public Comment Period: no comments

Old Business

President’s Announcements: Association picnic coming up in September, all Association members are invited

New Business

Election of Board members:

Current Board members re-nominated for another two-year term: Tim Wynn, Steve Abell, Christopher Morrison, Emily Pacheco, Shirley Forslof.

New nominees: Suneeta Eisenberg, Don Hale

Dick Conoboy moved to accept all nominees and elect them to the Board. Motion seconded, passed by voice vote of membership present.

Current Board members whose term continues through second year: Joe Carpenter, Marty Carter, Dick Conoboy, David Gilbertson. Garey Vodopich, Tom Roehl

All planned outside guest speakers cancelled out prior to the meeting.

Discussion of Padden Trails rezone and comprehensive plan request currently before the City Council.

Joe Carpenter briefly outlined current status of the request. Steve Abell outlined potential problems with traffic.

Questions from the floor were responded to by Joe Carpenter, Steve Abell, Bill Geyer (Geyer & Associates, advocate for Padden Trails LLC), and Michael Lilliquist
